Frequently Asked Questions

  • What gear do I need? Waders, Shotgun, and Shells. Check local weather forecasts leading up to the trip to plan accordingly for cold or wet conditions.
  • What licenses do I need? Arkansas hunting license: 5-Day Small Game License, or Annual Small Game License, Arkansas Waterfowl Stamp, Federal Duck Stamp, & Arkansas HIP registration.
  • What species of ducks do you normally shoot? Common species include Green-Winged Teal, Northern Shovelers, Pintails, Gadwall, & Mallards. There is always a possibility for wigeon or a variety of diver duck species!
  • How many people per group? Up to 6 in a duck blind. Snow goose hunts may be larger groups depending on the set up.
  • What does a typical hunt look like? Typically, you will meet your guide in-between 4 and 4:30am either at the Jordan's gas station in Cash or in front of the lodge. You will head to the field following the guide. The guide will unload the side by side and shuttle your group out to the blind. The guide will adjust the decoy spread based on the wind for the day and then you wait for shooting light! Hunts will typically run til limits are reached or late morning.
  • Where are you located? Delta Thunder is located just west of Jonesboro near Cash, Arkansas. Jonesboro has a wide array of restaurants, stores, etc. in case you need to run in and get anything.
  • What is the best place to fly into? Most clients that fly in will fly into Memphis and either get picked up by a friend or rent a vehicle. The lodge is a little over an hour from Memphis
